It all started with jelly beans…
When I was 17, a school fundraising gimmick was to guess the number of jelly beans in a glass jar. As I stood at the ticket purchase table, a specific number like 4,173 popped into my head. I poo-poohed the thought; my logical brain insisted the quantity couldn’t be that high, so I guessed another number. And lost. The winning number? 4,173.
That was cool (“neat”, in those days) but I buried it and other intuitive experiences in moving on to become a professional engineer and mom. Then in 1998 a friend introduced me to Reiki. By June 2000 I’d become a Reiki Master through Richard Rivard, of Vancouver, B.C., one of the world’s experts on Reiki history and spirituality.
Rick co-organized a Reiki conference (URRI) in Toronto, Ontario in September 2002. A practice partner in one of the workshops found a huge block in my kidney area and asked if he could remove it. I agreed, and within seconds uncharacteristic tears of incredible relief and joy streamed down my face. He told me he’d removed fear and replaced it with the opposite emotion. It was fast, effective, and painless. This stranger had no idea I’d been in a car accident and had had terrifying experiences in planes, leaving me fearful of both driving and flying (I took the train to Toronto). He told me he’d used IET to remove the block. Because my work and lifestyle require driving and flying, the outcome is much less stress.
Needless to say, I knew I had to learn IET and immediately found a Master-Instructor in Ottawa. Two years later, in June 2004, I myself became an Integrated Energy Therapy Master-Instructor, and am very honoured to be able to share this powerful technique with clients and students.
